Light in the Darkness
In a world often clouded by despair, injustice, and uncertainty, cinema possesses a unique power to illuminate the human spirit and inspire transformation. The Kampala Christian International Film Festival (KCIFF) 2027, under the theme “Light in the Darkness,” seeks to honour and showcase films that courageously confront the shadows of life—be they personal traumas, societal injustices, or global crises—while revealing the unwavering light of faith, resilience, and redemption.
This maiden edition invites storytellers from around the world to bring forth narratives that stir the soul and point toward hope even in the bleakest of circumstances. Whether through powerful testimonies of personal healing, tales of forgiveness and reconciliation, or visionary reflections on social renewal, we celebrate films that uplift the human spirit and affirm the redemptive message at the heart of the Christian faith.
“Light in the Darkness” is a call to artists, creators, and audiences to witness and share stories where grace triumphs over guilt, truth prevails over lies, and love overcomes hate. It is a celebration of the transformative power of storytelling rooted in compassion, conviction, and courage.
As KCIFF premieres in Kampala from May 27th to 30th, 2027, we open our hearts and screens to films that remind us that no matter how deep the night, the dawn of redemption always breaks through. Join us as we shine a light that heals, uplifts, and unites.
